The Cascades Club is a non-profit, community organization
established in 1920 as a social and athletic club owned and managed by
its members. As a member you are part owner. Everyone is welcome. The club is
located at 100 chemin de la Rivière in the municipality of Chelsea, provine
of Quebec.
Elected at the January/February AGM meeting and include: President.
Vice-president, Secretary, Treasurer and a number of Directors. They meet approximately
once per month and all members may attend and are encouraged to participate.
Facilities
The Club has a large hall (seating 100+), two international squash
courts, men's and women's locker rooms with showers, fitness room with universal
gym, full kitchen and a licensed bar. There is riverfront access with canoes
& kayaks available for use. We have a ball diamond, horseshoes and soccer
field, as well as a childrens play area.
Membership
All must be social members
before becoming squash, spinning or canoe members. Associate (non-voting) members
are those who live away from the area but who wish to receive the newsletters
and continue to support the Club.
Charter and Life members are those who
contributed financially to the construction of the squash courts
and upgrading of the overall facilities and have unlimited access
to the courts. Charter members transfer the playing rights to
their children but Life members do not.
All junior squash players must have their
parents as social members and unescorted children under 15
are not permitted in the Club.
Honorary memberships are given to those who
have given generously to the Club.
Corporate and other memberships may be awarded by the Executive as
deemed appropriate.
Fees
Annual fees are due January 1st of each year.
Door Locks
The push-button locks are changed May 1st each year and new combinations
numbers given only to paid members.
By-Laws
The Clubs by-laws are posted in the main hall.
Guest Book
All members and non-members must sign the guest book each
time they use the Club when the bar is open. Guests are admitted to functions
for an additional fee.
Guest Fees
Guest fees for fitness and squash may be paid through the mail slot
in the bar door. This is an honour system.
Rentals
Members may rent the Club for private
functions for only $35/hr., maximum $50 /day. They must
request a booking date to ensure that the Club is available (we
keep a calendar near the bar door). There is a form to be
completed which requires the host to identify the date, type of
function and duration.
Meetings of community interest, and
sponsored by the Club, may be booked without charge.
With programs for members only there
is no charge for the use of the facilities. Please ensure that
there is space available.
There is always a $150 cleaning/damage/bar
deposit for all events which will be refunded if the premises are
left as found.

and completion of the rental form confirms your booking.

Decorations
No decorations can be installed without executive approval.

Club
notice boards are for Club use only. IF there is space available other
notices of general interest may be placed for a one-week duration.
YOGA WINE AND CHEESE NIGHT WITH SHELLEY HARRISON
Friday January 27 at 7 p.m.
90 minute yoga stretch/workout followed by wine and nibbles or chai tea.
Cost: $20 per person

The Premier women's boat is now recruiting potential paddlers.
